Will Ferrell reprised his impression of George W. Bush on “Saturday Night Live” to mock all the other Republican presidential candidates.
Bush is back and ready for a third term.
Will Ferrell returned to “Saturday Night Live” under the guise of George W. Bush snarking on the menagerie of Republican candidates running for president including Donald Trump, Ben Carson and Bush’s own brother.
“Oh boy. Poor Jeb,” Ferrell said as Bush. “You gotta admit it’s a pretty good plot twist that I turned out to be the smart one.”
The actor reprised his popular impression of the former president for the cold open, mocking each candidate as an unfitting replacement for the Oval Office. Ferrell offered his cariacture as Bush as a more favorable candidate.
“I’ve got news for (Carson). Running the country is not brain surgery. Trust me, I know.”
He poked fun — breaking into laughter — at an especially blustery photo of Trump and the billionaire’s toxic call to ban Muslims from the United States.
Will Ferrell, appearing as George W. Bush in 2002, laughs with Darrell Hammon as former Vice President Dick Cheney.
“Whenever I get in a bad mood, I just picture his big fat, orange Oompa Loompa face,” he said from a presidential podium. “I just piss my pants.”
“And now he says he wants to keep Muslims out … that’s like saying let’s keep all the Leprechauns out,” Ferrell said.
“We tried tiny leprechaun internment camps in the late 1920s and you all know it backfired,” Ferrell added. “And that’s why they’re so hard to find.”
This is Ferrell’s fourth cameo since concluding his seven-year stint on the NBC show in 2002. He hosted the show in 2005, 2009 and 2012.
