Once upon a time, Elton John would have chosen the rock and roll lifestyle over parenthood.
“If you’d had said to me 10 years ago I’d be sitting on your show married to the man I love and have two beautiful children I would have said you put acid in my drink,” John said on Monday’s “Ellen DeGeneres Show.”
The “Rocket Man” and his husband David Furnish have sons, Zachary, 5, and Elijah,3.
They were both born via a surrogate.
“They are the greatest thing in our lives. There’s no words to describe how much we love these boys. They’re just amazing,” he told DeGeneres.
John appeared on Ellen DeGeneres show where he talked about his kids and husband David.
The “I’m Still Standing” crooner will release his 33rd album “Wonderful Crazy Night” on Feb. 5. The album was recorded last year in a mere 17 days. “I wanted to write a joyous, rock and roll record with very happy lyrics,” he said. “It sounds like an Elton ’70s record made in 2015.”
Although his kids don’t know the new tunes by heart, they have memorized the words to his classic hits “Rocket Man,” “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” and “Bennie and the Jets.”
They’re also into EDM and Drake. “I mean they love Hotline Bling that’s their favorite song. And they love Uptown Funk and Zachary likes Kraftwerk, which is a bit worrying.”
