The Donald Trump and Jeb Bush campaigns are arguing the case of the volunteer with the tough questions.

It turns out that the New Hampshire woman who asked Trump Monday about equal pay and abortion rights has volunteered for the Bush campaign in the past.

“The arrogant young woman who questioned me in such a nasty fashion at No Labels yesterday was a Jeb staffer!” Trump tweeted Monday. “HOW CAN HE BEAT RUSSIA & CHINA?”

The Bush campaign said the woman, identified as Lauren Batchelder, has never been a paid staff member, but has volunteered at events for Bush as well as other candidates.

The woman, a student at Saint Anselm College, “is passionate about and active in politics and attended this event on her own accord,” said Bush spokeswoman Allie Brandenburger. “While this question was not sanctioned by the campaign, we can’t help but notice Mr. Trump does seem to be very sensitive about being challenged by women.”

During a Monday event in New Hampshire, the woman asked Trump if his administration would be able to guarantee equal pay for women, and allow her to “choose what I do with my body.”

Trump replied by saying, “you’re going to make the same if you do as good a job,” and added that “I happen to be pro-life.”
