Tony Awards set a date for 2018 telecast from Radio City

The 2018 Tony Awards telecast on CBS once again goes to Radio City Music Hall, where the annual celebration of Broadway’s best will take place on June 18.

The Tony Awards also announced today, in conjunction with CBS, a new broadcast agreement that will keep annual Tony Awards broadcast on the CBS Television Network through 2026. The Tony Awards has aired on CBS since 1978.

The new theater season is getting into high gear. Among shows waiting in the wings are the musicals “The Band’s Visit, “Frozen,” “Mean Girls” and “SpongeBob SquarePants” and star-driven plays like “Meteor Shower” with Amy Schumer, “M. Butterfly” with Clive Owen and “Farinelli and the King” with Mark Rylance.

Nominations for the 2018 Tonys will be announced on May 1, 2018.
