In the age of instant gratification, Thanksgiving isn’t any different. Those who want their bird and sides all in one hearty sandwich — and want it before the holiday even arrives — are in luck.
Whether you like your Thanksgiving sandwich on standard sliced bread or prefer to go wild by having it stuffed between “monkey bread” or crammed in stuffing cake buns, these seven restaurants and chains have you covered.
Griggstown Loaded Turkey Sandwich
($ 25 at Warren 77 in Tribeca, available on Thanksgiving only; warren77nyc.com)
As part of this sports bar and restaurant’s Football Friendsgiving, Warren 77 will offer this turkey sandwich stuffed with house-made sweet potato-sage stuffing, gravy and cranberry mustard on organic whole wheat sourdough. It comes with two sides (mac-n-cheese, poutine, or chili con carne).
Holiday Turkey & Stuffing Panini
The Starbucks Holiday Turkey Panini sandwich is available through the holiday season.
($ 6.75-$ 6.95 at Starbucks locations, available through the holiday season; starbucks.com)
Starbucks’ holiday sandwich is a great lunch item without the fuss or frills. Simple turkey breast is topped with cranberry-herb stuffing, savory herbs and turkey gravy all served on a toasted ciabatta roll. If you need a holiday fix at breakfast instead, Starbucks also has a seasonal sandwich packed with maple-glazed ham, egg, and Swiss cheese on a croissant.
Speakeatery’s “Turk Diggler” Thanksgiving sandwich, found in Asbury Park, New Jersey through Wednesday.
($ 15 at The Speakeatery in Asbury Park, New Jersey, available through Wednesday; thespeakeatery.com)
The Turk Diggler is the Thanksgiving sandwich to end all sandwiches because it does what few others dare to do: puts the stuffing directly in the bread. The holiday monster ‘wich is made with stuffing cake buns loaded with smoked turkey, roasted garlic parmesan mashed potatoes, cranberry aioli and bacon gravy. It also comes with chips or slaw and a pickle. If you miss it this time around, keep an eye on the restaurant’s promotions on Instagram to find out when the sandwich returns since it resurfaces every three months.
Roasted Turkey Monkey Bread Sandwich
Quality Eats Thanksgiving Sandwich, sold at both Midtown East and West Village locations.
($ 25 at Quality Eats’ West Village and Upper East Side locations, available Wednesday through Dec. 1; qualityeats.com)
At $ 25 a pop, it’s a good thing this sandwich is hefty. It’s filled with thick-cut layers of roasted turkey, sausage stuffing and cranberry mustard. Best of all, it sits between Quality Eats’ monkey bread — a baked potato bun flavored with chives. Another bonus: a glass of bourbon punch with spiced apple cider and fresh cranberries is included in the price.
Lenwich’s Thanksgiving Sandwich, sold at any location year-round.
($ 8.99-$ 10.49 at Lenwich locations, served all year; lenwich.com)
You can score this holiday treat year-round at Lenwich. The sandwich chain piles roasted turkey, stuffing, cranberry sauce and gravy onto your choice of bread.
Holiday Turkey & Trimmings Sandwich
Hale and Hearty’s Turkey and Trimmings sandwich.
(Hale and Hearty)
($ 4.15 half-sandwich; $ 7.85 whole at Hale and Hearty locations, sold through the end of November; haleandhearty.com)
As with many of Hale and Hearty’s options, the Thanksgiving-themed sandwich here is heavy on the veggies. With smoked turkey, thick chunks of roasted butternut squash, carrot ginger dressing, cranberry apple pecan relish and lettuce on walnut raisin cranberry bread, you’ll feel slightly healthier having this instead of some of the other Thanksgiving-themed options out there. You can also pair it with the chain’s Thanksgiving Dinner soup made with turkey, sausage, sweet potatoes, dried cranberry and more.
Thanksgiving Sandwich from Pat LaFrieda at Pennsy Food Hall in midtown.
(Pennsy Food Hall)
