It was a Twitterstorm.
Stormy Daniels — the porn star at the center of a presidential sex scandal — engaged in a scathing back-and-forth with a woman who misspelled First Lady Melania Trump’s name over Twitter on Monday.
Daniels, whose real name is Stephanie Clifford, didn’t hold back after Twitter user Dawn Comfort blasted her for supposedly hurting the First Lady and her son, Barron, by allegedly engaging in a year-long affair with Donald Trump over a decade ago.
Comfort excoriated Clifford as “sick” and “disgusting” for hurting “innocent people, like Barron & Melanie.”
“If you had a fling have some CLASS & shut up cause you’ll be a bleep in history,” Comfort capped off her post before blocking Clifford.
Clifford, 38, took glee in Comfort’s typo.
“She tried so hard to get last comment before blocking me so I WILL answer,” the “Good Will Humping” actress tweeted. “Dawn, you just can’t help yourself. You love talking to me and FOR poor griefsticken (sic) ‘Melanie’ whose name you can’t even get right. Lol.”
Clifford has made national headlines since it was first reported last month that President Trump’s personal attorney, Michael Cohen, paid her $ 130,000 before the election to keep quiet about a year-long affair she had with Trump in 2006. A media frenzy ensued that culminated in Cohen admitting last week that he made the hush payment.
Social media users ripped Comfort for seemingly implying that Clifford is more to blame than Trump, even though he allegedly cheated on his wife just months after she gave birth to their son, Barron.
But Comfort insisted that she wasn’t defending Trump’s alleged behavior.
“If the affair happened, my feeling is she’s wrong for supposedly accepting hush money & then trying to profit further,” the Mission Bay, Fla., woman told a Daily News reporter in a direct message, referencing Clifford’s recently announced strip club tour. “Most importantly, there are 2 innocent people being hurt & embarrassed by her and she doesn’t seem to care. That’s uncalled for in my book.”
Comfort, who describes herself in her Twitter bio as “an American woman who believes in God, Country & Trump,” said she still supports the President, even though she finds the allegations against him concerning. She once again appeared to lay the brunt of the blame on Clifford.
“Trump cheated but Stormy knew he was married and was also aware his wife had just had a baby,” Comfort said. “She’s not innocent in the situation.”
