This Star is getting hitched on a boat.
TV lawyer Star Jones beamed about her upcoming wedding on “Good Day New York” on Thursday, but didn’t want to give any details. But had she spoken up, one friend of hers says Jones would have told her audience that she and her fiancé Ricardo Lugo were planning to hit the seas in late March or early April.
A source close to Jones tells us that she plans to get married on a private cruise ship with friends and family on board. We’re told that it hasn’t been announced where the ship will sail, but Lake Michigan isn’t likely, even though the pair lives in Chicago. They were engaged in October.
There was a private bridal shower for Jones on Wednesday at an undisclosed Manhattan location. Singer Vanessa Williams performed and CBS News medical contributor Dr. Holly Phillips was also on hand, according to our snitch.
Jones, 55, was married to Al Reynolds from 2004 to 2008. Reynolds announced in November that he now dated men and women. She and Lugo, who has a son, have been very private about their relationship. They first went public at a Children’s Museum event in Bridgehampton in July 2016.

“I’m happy and that’s all anybody outside of my family needs to know,” Jones told Us Magazine at the event. In July, Lugo, who also keeps a low profile, posted a photo of himself with Jones and Williams at an event in St. Louis Missouri.
A need for privacy isn’t the only thing Jones and Lugo have in common.
The Chicago Tribune reports that the under-the-radar groom, also a lawyer, serves as an assistant state’s attorney.
Keeping wedding details private is a good idea for Jones. In 2004, before her first marriage, Jones, then a host on “The View,” was accused of using her air time to plug products and services from companies that were contributing to her wedding ceremony. She argued that ABC was well aware of what she was doing and that it was all above boards. ABC did not renew her contract when it expired in 2006.
