She didn’t rise from the dead; she never died.
Emergency medical workers for Jamaica Hospital pronounced a 32-year-old woman dead after she shot herself in the head early Thursday. Then cops realized she was still alive 40 minutes later, sources said.
The woman had been on the phone with her boyfriend threatening to kill herself when she apparently shot herself in the head with a rifle inside of a home on 115th St. near 103rd Ave. in Richmond Hill around 9 a.m., cops said.
Unable to reach the woman, the panicked boyfriend called her sister, who then called police. Cops conducting a wellness check found the woman around 9:30 a.m. lying on the ground in a pool of blood.
Cops maintained the apartment as a potential crime scene, but continually heard gurgling and wheezing noises, the sources said. One cop noticed the woman was clearly trying to breathe.
Cops call the EMTs again after learning the woman was alive and rushed her to Jamaica Hospital. By the time she was taken to the hospital between 40 minutes and an hour had passed.
She was in critical condition late Thursday.
