A Florida couple was matched up on a dating website and they hit off immediately. Little did they know, they had been preschool sweethearts thirty years earlier.
A Florida couple rekindled their preschool romance thirty years later after they were matched up on a dating website.
Amy Giberson and Justin Pounders attended Sunshine Preschool in St. Petersburg, Fla., when they were three-years-old, People reported. The couple said they shared a “shy” romance as children.
The preschool sweethearts eventually grew up and headed off to different schools. Thirty years later, they met again on a dating website and spent almost a year together before realizing that they went to preschool together in St. Petersburg.
“I saw her photo and for whatever reason, was instantly drawn to her,” Pounders told People.
Despite growing up in the same area, the couple had no mutual friends, Giberson told People.
After piecing together that they attended the same preschool, they asked their parents to do some digging.
“Justin’s mom found a photo of the two of us together, and I just started crying, I was ecstatic,” Giberson said.
Although the couple isn’t engaged, they already have a wedding date picked out, People reported.
“We’re best friends in love,” Giberson told People. “And apparently we always have been.”
