CLEVELAND — Despite the strained neck suffered because of his scary collision with Carmelo Anthony two days prior, Kristaps Porzingis declared himself ready for Wednesday’s game.
He said the stiffness was gone – although he was clearly turning with his body rather than neck – and credited the medical staff for their diligent massages.
The challenge Wednesday is guarding Cavs power forward Kevin Love, who entered the game averaging 18.5 points and 10.8 boards.
“It’s different. LaMarcus Aldridge (the opposing power forward Monday) is great at midrange but he doesn’t step out to the 3-point line that much like Kevin Love,” Porzingis said. “So I have to be ready to step out, guard him, and then get back in and get the rebound, box out guys. He’s a great rebounder too so I have to focus on boxing him out as well.”
