Hit Us baby — again and again, and again!
The ladies of Little Mix have been promoting up a storm for their upcoming album, Get Weird (in stores Nov. 6). But, in our humble opinion, their best marketing move to date? Using Perrie Edwards to recreate Britney Spears‘ “…Baby One More Time” music video, complete with locker choreography.
Perrie Edwards and Britney Spears, waiting for that bell to ring.
Check out the 15-second clip above, filmed during the group’s “OMG” video set. Does Edwards, 22, who shares Spears’ blonde locks and longing stare, not nail the pop princess in her debut video? She’s got the pen-flick, toe-tap down to a T. And while no one bats their lashes quite like Miss American Dream, 34, we think that Edwards is more than doing the “Toxic” singer justice!
Sharing the video via Little Mix’s Twitter page, Edwards, who split from fiancé, former One Direction member Zayn Malik, earlier this year, wrote, “There’s always time for a @BritneySpears video montage on set…OBVIOUSLY! Ha! Perrie
But she’s not the first girl to imitate Miss Spears! Scroll on to see some of our favorite takes on our forever favorite.
In 2011, Lauren Conrad worked the “…Baby One More Time” schoolgirl getup as her Halloween costume.
Lea Michele performing “…Baby One More Time” on Glee.
That same year, Lea Michele rocked her best tied crop top and pleated skirt for Glee’s Britney tribute episode, the second season standout “Britney/Brittany.”
Heather Morris did her best “Slave 4 U” on Glee.
Of course, we would be remiss if we didn’t shout out the true tar of that episode, Heather Morris, who flawlessly recreated Spears’ “Slave 4 U” performance at the 2001 VMAs, complete with snake!
Beyond adorable, Spears’ niece, Maddie Aldridge (Jamie Lynn‘s little girl), dressed up as her famous aunt for Halloween in 2012. We wonder if Spears lent her the pink hair ties?!
Christina Aguilera imitates Britney Spears for The Voice.
And finally, no Britney roundup is complete without Christina Aguilera, who has impersonated her former Mickey Mouse Club costar on multiple occasions, though perhaps never better than in costume for a Voice special in 2015. Long live the queens!
