DALLAS — No injuries were reported after a parking garage at an apartment complex in the Turtle Creek area partially collapsed Friday afternoon.
A portion of the garage at The Renaissance complex on Turtle Creek Boulevard caved just after 5 p.m., residents said. and cars fell through multiple levels . There was a hole on the seventh floor of the garage that was roughly two parking spaces wide.
“I saw a couple cars just basically pancaked,” said resident Jay Reddy.
Garage cameras did not provide any indication that anyone was inside the vehicles in the “collapse zone,” according to a statement from Dallas Fire-Rescue. Property management was still making sure each resident was accounted for, according to investigators.
It took several hours for investigators to comb the debris. Five disaster dogs surveyed the damage and found no “life hits,” DFR said.
