Service on the No. 6 subway was suspended between Hunts Point Ave. and 125th St. in both directions Monday morning because of a water-main break, MTA officials said.

Shuttle buses were being provided between the two points. Riders were also encouraged to use the 2, 4, and 5 lines to travel to and from the Bronx.

Commuters were asked to find alternate routes after a water main break break near 140th St. and Bruckner Blvd. sent water sloshing all over the tracks.

They can also use the Bx33 and the BxM6 routes in the area.

The water main break near 140th St. and Bruckner Blvd. sent water sloshing over the tracks, officials said. But the water subsided and transit workers began running test trains over the tracks a little after 9 a.m. as a prelude to returning 6 service.
