Animal masks, lumberjacks and now Michael Phelps.
Arizona State University’s “Curtain of Distraction” has created fame for the Sun Devils as the student section brings out costumes and props each night to distract opponents at the free throw line.
During Thursday night’s 86-68 rout of the Oregon State Beavers, the students brought out a special guest: the most decorated Olympian of all time, Michael Phelps.
In the second half, black curtains opened to unveil Phelps, clad in basketball shorts, his Olympic medals and a swimcap.
Seconds later, Phelps ripped off the shorts to reveal an orange and yellow Speedo.
Unsurprisingly, Oregon State’s Stephen Thompson Jr. missed both of his foul shots while the scantily clad Phelps danced around behind the hoop.
The Olympian is currently training for the 2016 Summer Games in Rio De Janeiro.
He recently announced that he would serve as a volunteer assistant coach at ASU under his coach Bob Bowman after he retires.
