The parental fitness of Lindsay Lohan’s troubled father and his estranged wife are being called into question.
A Florida judge shut down Michael Lohan’s and Kate Major’s plea to bring home their sons — 2-year-old Landon and 10-month-old Logan — nearly a week after the boys were removed from Major’s Boca Raton home, TMZ is reporting.
The two boys will continue to live with Michael Lohan’s mother, who was awarded custody on Monday, according to the gossip site.
Last Wednesday, the Florida Department of Children and Families obtained a video of Lohan and Major having an “extreme argument” in front of their sons — causing authorities to remove the two boys from their home and eventually take them to their grandmother’s house.
Lohan and Major will reportedly only be able to see their kids with a DCF monitor now, and both have been ordered to take anger management courses.
For his part, Lohan tells TMZ that the reason his children were taken away is because Major, who has had legal troubles stemming from alcohol abuse, was not supposed to have the kids without a monitor, and DCF officials felt that “he didn’t protect the kids from her.”

Lohan later claimed Major had set him up, calling her “a proven alcoholic, a liar … and an abuser,” TMZ reported.
“I have so many videos of her abuse, her lies and admitting her lies and saying she’ll lie and do anything she can to set me up,” he said.
The estranged couple was briefly engaged in 2010 but broke up a short time later. Despite their troubled relationship, the two reunited in 2012 after Major became pregnant with their eldest son.
