Michael Douglas’ latest role just may be his most meaningful yet.
The actor is officially a grandfather. His oldest son, Cameron Douglas, confirmed the arrival of his first child, a baby girl, on Instagram on Tuesday.
The 39-year-old posted a photo of girlfriend Viviane Thibes, whom he hailed as a “warrior,” doing prenatal yoga.
In the post’s caption, Douglas’ son gushed about the birth of their daughter, calling it “a miracle.”
Douglas, 73, and wife Catherine Zeta-Jones have not commented on the latest addition to their family.
The couple is currently travelling in India with their two children, Dylan and Carys, according toInstagramposts.
Early this month, however, he told ET Online he was thrilled to take on the title of grandpa.
“I’m going to be a grandfather this month, before the end of the year. I’m very excited. it’s about time,” he said at the premiere of his wife’s latest film “Cocaine Godmother.”
Cameron has been hard at work trying to turn his life around. The new father has openly struggled with addiction and is no stranger to the lockup.
In June, People reported he tested positive for marijuana—a violation of the terms of his probation—after being released from prison.
The drug screen was taken in April, court documents obtained by the outlet revealed.

In May, Cameron appeared in court where probation officers told the judge he’d been accused by lab technicians of “attempting to manipulate the results” of the drug test by submitting “something that was not his urine.”
A third test was administered and, according to People, came back positive.
Probation officers asked for leniency from the judge, stating that “relapse is part of the recovery process.”
News of Thibes’ pregnancy broke in August.
