Former New York Jets star Keyshawn Johnson is on the defensive over claims he fathered a 4-month-old son.
Asked about the pending paternity claim Thursday, his lawyer said Johnson is not the dad.
“The allegations are unequivocally, absolutely false,” lawyer Aja Mann told the Daily News.
Mann declined to answer further questions about the case.
“There is a time and place for everything. This is not the time or place. We’re going to let the legal system deal with this issue. But it is absolutely untrue,” she said.
TMZ Sports was first to report the mystery baby Thursday.
It said an unidentified woman filed court paperwork claiming she conceived the baby with the ex-NFL Pro Bowler last year and deserves at least $ 4,346 per month in child support.
The 35-year-old woman is asking for a paternity test to establish Johnson is the father, TMZ said.
Johnson, 45, is in the middle of a divorce from wife Jennifer Conrad.
Conrad originally filed for divorce in March 2015 — seven months after tying the knot — but then the couple reportedly reconciled.
According to TMZ, the couple was back on at the time the woman behind the paternity claim got pregnant.
Johnson’s divorce remains an open case in Los Angeles County Superior Court with Conrad hiring a new lawyer in January, online court records show.
Johnson and Conrad share two young kids.
