Kate Middleton’s uncle charged with assault in London

Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton’s uncle was arrested for assault in London.

Gary Goldsmith, 52, was arrested on Friday for assault by beating in an early morning altercation around 1:20 a.m. near his home on a London street.

The victim is said to be his wife, Julie-Ann Goldsmith, according to reports.

Goldsmith, who is one of Middleton’s mother’s brothers, was released on bail and due in court on Oct. 31.

The couple attended a charity event that same evening, according to Goldsmith’s Twitter account and they won a trip to climb Kilimanjaro as evident in pictures shared on the account.

He was in attendence at Middleton’s wedding to Prince William in 2011.

An undercover reporter filmed Goldsmith in 2009 as he allegedly took cocaine and bragged about his connections to the royal family.

He once owned a house in Spain called “La Maison de Bang Bang.”
