Pop star Justin Bieber isn’t “Sorry” he flipped over a chair and stormed off — and neither are his adoring fans.
After a video surfaced Saturday of the annoyed Canadian pop star toppling a chair and storming off from lunch with a friend in Cannes, France, Bieber took to Twitter to clear up rumors that had begun to swirl about his on-camera outburst.
“My buddy had just told me some bad personal news,” he wrote. “Don’t lie please.”
To the “What Do You Mean?” singer’s delight, his beloved Beliebers rallied to his defense and began to post photos and animated GIFs of chairs being angrily hurled through glass windows, across soccer fields and into wrestling rings. He retweeted more than a dozen.
“I love u guys. This is funny as hell,” he tweeted.
He went on to plug his upcoming album, “Purpose,” with a photo of a white lawn chair.
Bieber’s chair-flip is the latest in a series of awkward moments recently caught on camera — last week, a video showed him reprimanding an audience in Spain for not clapping on beat.
Days before that, he pitched a fit during an Oslo, Norway concert and stalked offstage after playing one song.
And in late October, a viral video showed him muttering, “You’re crazy,” and walking out of an interview with three Spanish DJs.
“Purpose” debuts Friday.
