Italian leader gives Putin duvet cover with their picture on it

Italy’s controversial former leader isn’t keeping his love for Vladimir Putin under wraps, or under the covers.

Three-time prime minister Silvio Berlusconi gave his longtime Kremlin colleague a duvet cover of them shaking hands as part of a series of birthday gifts, Correire della Serra reported Sunday.

Putin, who turned 65 on Saturday, has long enjoyed a warm relationship with the Italian, who stepped down in 2011 after his last term in office was marred by scandals and has been barred from politics after a 2013 tax fraud conviction.

“Happy Birthday Mr President Vladimir Putin !! Grazie Presidente Berlusconi,” Michele Cascavilla, whose company Lenzuolissimi made the bed linen for the bromance, posted on Instagram.

The former KGB agent in Moscow also played a role in Berlusconi’s sex scandals, which included allegations of “bunga bunga” sex parties at his villa.

A high-end escort who claimed to have had sex with the prime minister was recorded referring to one of the beds at his residence as “Putin’s” in 2008.

Berlusconi, a media businessman whose political career has been compared to President Trump’s, is appealing his political ban, but unlikely to be able to represent his center-right party as it looks to regain power next year.

Putin also faces a potential election in 2018, but has stayed mum on whether he will seek to hang on to the presidency that he first assumed in 2000.
