Giants' Landon Collins responds to college student's racist rant

Of all days, Harley Barber, a member of the Alpha Phi sorority at the University of Alabama, decided MLK Day was the perfect time to express her racism and deep hate for black people.

Barber’s video quickly went viral, and was transcribed by AL.com.

In the first video, Barber is at a sink before she turns off the water.

“We do not waste water…because of the poor people in Syria. We don’t waste water. I love how I act like I love black people because I (expletive) hate (n-word) so that’s really interesting but I just saved the (expletive) (n-word) by shutting that water off.”

And in the in a second video, Barber discusses her love for finally being able to let her racism to flow freely in The South.

“(N-word) (n-word) (n-word). I don’t care if it’s Martin Luther King Day. I’m in the south now (expletive) so everybody can (expletive) off. I’m from New Jersey so I can say (n-word) as much as I want.”

Former Alabama star Landon Collins was not happy.

“Alpha Phi, ‘Be weary of the company you keep for they are a reflection of who you are or who you want to be,” wrote Collins on his Twitter account. “Harley Barber didn’t wake up this morning and decide to spew racist rhetoric for the first time in her life. Therefore, I believe I speak on behalf of my brothers and myself, when I say, the Bama football team does not need the support, cheers or high fives of anyone who condones this type of intolerant, hateful behavior. #BuiltByBama.”

This is not the first time that white sororities at the University of Alabama have come under fire. In 2013, it was reported that all-white sororities were forbidding black students from pledging.

When you take a look at Nick Saban’s football team on Saturdays, the overwhelming majority of the roster is black. It’s a stark contrast from what you will see in the stands.

Apparently, in 2018, a lot of people still look at black folks as another form of entertainment.
