George Clooney took a bite out of Scotland with his visit to a local sandwich shop.
The movie star dropped by Social Bite in Edinburgh on Thursday to honor the cafe, which donates all of its profits to help the city’s homeless population.
Clooney, 54, aided the cause by donating $ 1,000 to the cafe, which would go towards the shop’s goal of feeding the less fortunate.
“Only two years ago I was living on the streets of Edinburgh,” said employee Sonny Murray in a press release.
“Today I’m in full-time employment … and I just made lunch for one of the biggest stars on the planet.”
The “Ocean’s Eleven” star ordered an avocado, pesto and pepper wrap for lunch, and also took selfies and chatted with the cafe’s customers and staff members.
Besides making a stop at the sandwich shop, Clooney is also scheduled to speak at the Scottish Business Awards on Thursday night, an event which celebrates local businesses.
