The 15-year-old record for fastest completion of the “GoldenEye 007” level “Dam” was broken – with a new speed of 52 seconds.
The Nintendo 64 game’s first level has long been a speedrunner’s (fast game player) true test of quickness and many have tried to beat the 53 second record set by another gamer, Bryan Bosshardt, on the game’s hardest difficulty setting, Agent.
Since Bosshardt set the record, 126 people have tied him but none have completed the stage faster, until Australian speedrunner Karl Jobst clocked in a run of 0:52 this past weekend.
“I’m losing my mind…look at it!” Jobst said in a video on Twitch that recorded his run. “I’m just shaking, this is insane.”
The 15-year-old record for the fastest anyone has ever completed the “GoldenEye 007” level “Dam” was broken on Sunday in just 52 seconds.

The key to finishing the level as fast as possible is by getting as many boosts as possible and opening the gates to the level as fast as you can, Kotaku notes.
Jobst later wrote on Reddit that it took him about 250 hours worth of trial runs to try and break the record.
“I f—–g clutched it!” he added.
