Former Disney star Tiffany Thornton’s husband Chris Carney died in a car crash early Friday, the Arkansas Times and TMZ reported.
Carney, 35, was driving with another man, Ezekiel Blanton, near Hot Springs, Ark., when Blanton lost control of the car while approaching a curve in the road.
Carney, a former member of the rock band “The Prom Kings,” appeared on the short-lived MTV reality show “twentyfourseven.”
The show followed him and his younger brother Greg’s move to Los Angeles to pursue a career in music.
Carney, who is the son of Hot Springs Mayor Ruth Carney, married Thornton in 2011.
They have two sons, Kenneth, 3, and Bentley Cash, 21 months.
Thornton’s former “Sonny With a Chance” co-star Demi Lovato was a bridesmaid in the couple’s wedding. Although she didn’t directly address his death, she tweeted Friday “This isn’t real.”
Her boyfriend, Wilmer Valderrama, godfather to Kenneth, has yet to comment.
It’s been a sad week for Thornton, the host of a show on Hot Springs radio station, 105.9 KLAZ.
On Thursday, she posted a tribute and Instagram to best friend Brittany Blanton, who died Wednesday.
