Faith No More's Chuck Mosley may have died from overdose: police

Former Faith No More singer Chuck Mosley may have succumbed to a heroin overdose, police said.

Mosley was discovered dead with a pair of syringes, a spoon featuring an undisclosed residue substance and a bag next to him last Thursday at his Cleveland residence, law enforcement officials said in a police report.

His death is listed in the police report as a suspected heroin overdose.

The singer’s body was first discovered by his partner Pip Logan and their friend. Mosley’s family did not provide a specific cause of death when they confirmed his passing in a statement last week, though they did attribute it to “the disease of addiction.”

An official cause of death won’t be known for a while, as the Medical Examiner won’t receive results from the toxicology test for several weeks, according to TMZ.

Mosley, who was 57, maintained a lengthy stretch of sobriety before his death, his family said last week.

Mosley was the vocalist for the Faith No More — a rock group that covered multiple variations of the genre including metal and funk — on the band’s first two albums, which came out in 1985 and 1987, respectively.

He joined the band in 1983 and remained a member until 1988.
