Now that’s a senior portrait!
“Stranger Things” star David Harbour recently upheld his end of a deal he made with a teenage fan to appear in her school pictures if she could get 25,000 or more retweets.
According to Fox 40, Orestimba High School student Demaris Fregoso never thought she’d hear from Harbour, 42, when she asked him on Twitter how many retweets it would take for him to consider her request.
Still, she decided to take a shot.
“I was about to hop in the shower and then I was like, ‘Let me look through my phone,’ and then I said, ‘Let me tweet him’,” she recalled.
Harbour quickly responded to the message, sent at about 1 a.m. in October 2017. Fregoso was shocked.
“And then I realized it was my own tweet and once I saw that I started shaking really bad,” she told Fox 40.
“I could not control my shaking. And I thought, ‘Is this real? Like, what the heck?'”
In less than 24 hours Fregoso had met the goal. Fast forward several months, she and Harbour finally met in early January.
He posed alongside her in a serious of photographs wearing a sweatshirt bearing the name of Fregoso’s school sports team. Harbour also held a trombone, as he requested in his initial tweet.
“It felt so unreal. I couldn’t believe that my favorite character was standing right in front of me,” Fregoso said.
“It was crazy. I like to say the word ‘weird,’ but it’s not weird because weird sounds not good, but it’s weird, but crazy, like a good weird.”
Stranger things have happened, however.
After her unbelievable luck in being noticed by Harbour, Fregoso’s sending the following message to other hopeful Twitter users.
“Take your shot, you know, because you never know,” she told Fox 40.
