Celine Dion’s husband Rene Angelil was laid to rest in an emotional funeral service at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal on Friday.
The religious service began at 3 p.m. and was livestreamed so fans around the world could say goodbye to the music manager, who passed away from cancer earlier this month.
Dion, 47, entered the church with her 5-year-old twin sons, Nelson and Eddie, by her side, and older son Rene-Charles escorted Dion’s mother Therese.

The singer, dressed in black with a veil over her face, was visibly emotional as she and her children made the processional toward her late husband’s casket.
Rene-Charles, who turns 15 next week, delivered a eulogy during the funeral.
“Fifteen years is not a long time for a son to get to know his father,” he said, according to CBCNews.

“You’re a tough act to follow, but with your help, everything is going to be fine … I promise you that we are going to live up to your standards. Je t’aime papa.”
The two-hours funeral service was held one day after a public memorial at the same church. Dion attended the service and met with mourners who had come to pay their respects.
Angelil’s service was held at the Notre-Dame Basilica at his request because it was where he and Dion wed 21 years ago.
A public memorial will also be held Feb. 3 at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, where Dion has a concert residency.

It has been a trying time for Dion: Two days after Angelil passed away from throat cancer at age 73, her brother Daniel, 59, also died from cancer.
