It’s Bud Light to the rescue this Super Bowl Sunday.
The beer giant rolled out the latest commercial in its highly quotable “Dilly Dilly!” ad campaign, and it features a stoic warrior aptly named the “Bud Knight” riding on horseback into the middle of a battle for the final stack of 12-packs.
Initially, his fellow warriors are relieved to see the knight — who’s clad in Bud Light-themed armor — arrive, but he quickly blows past the battle and enters a nearby convenience store to purchase a box of beer.
“Hey Bud Knight, aren’t you going to fight with us?” one solider asks.
But the Bud Knight has other priorities.
“Oh, uh,” he begins. “A buddy of mine is having this 30th birthday thing.”
He ultimately saves the day, though, when he summons a magic power from the sky that leaves the enemies running for their lives.
“Every war needeth a hero. And every hero needeth a beer,” Bud Light tweeted with the video.
The advertisement is Bud Light’s third Super Bowl commercial this year. It’s set to air sometime during the second quarter of Sunday’s game between the New England Patriots and the Philadelphia Eagles.
Its preceding commercial, meanwhile, will run during the first quarter.
Dilly Dilly, indeed.
