The older brother of former Florida police officer Nouman Raja — who was fired after killing a black musician — has been implicated among five deputies in shooting a suspected robber.
Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Deputy Adnan Raja is on paid leave after gunning down a long time felon following his alleged two-day string of armed robberies at a pizza shop, grocery store and bank, according to the Palm Beach Post.
The deputies opened fire on Olie James Goad, 48, at around 2 a.m. Sunday and critically wounded the suspect who allegedly threatened the officers with a hunting knife.

Palm Beach Gardens police officer Nouman Raja, 38, fatally shot Corey Jones, 31, who was stopped along the highway after his car broke down. Police say Jones was armed and confronted the officer.
At least two bullets from two of the deputies struck Goad, authorities said.
Raja joined the Palm Beach County agency in April 2014 as a former detective for the Riviera Beach Police Department.
Raja’s younger brother, Nouman, was terminated from Palm Beach Garden Police Department less than a month after he killed Corey Jones along Interstate 95 on Oct. 18, sparking nationwide outrage decrying excessive use of force among police officers.
Goad, who has been convicted of attempted murder, had an inappropriate relationship with a Palm County Sheriff’s Office deputy while jailed in 2010 prompting in the female deputy’s termination.
