Britney Spears’ new venture into professional artist is already a wild success.
The 35-year-old singer sold a floral watercolor painting to former “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous” host Robin Leach for $ 10,000 at an auction Monday.
All proceeds from the auction went to VegasCares, which is raising money to commission an art piece in memory of Las Vegas massacre victims.
“I’m so proud to call Vegas my second home and I’m pleased to participate in this Vegas Cares show,” Spears said in a video message during a concert that night.
“The flowers in my painting represent a new beginning, and it’s in that spirit that we move forward. All the proceeds from the winning bid go to Vegas Cares Memorial Fund. I appreciate your kindness and your generosity — I love you Vegas.”
Spears first showed off the painting in October in an Instagram video backed by Mozart’s “Rondo Alla Turca.”
The singer appears to be outside on the patio of her California mansion, dressed in a paint-splattered shirt, white shorts and a matching top.
On Saturday, Spears was on hand for the grand opening of the Nevada Childhood Cancer Foundation’s Britney Spears Campus, for which she began fund-raising in 2014.
“We’ve raised $ 1 million to build this amazing facility to support the kids and families everywhere,” she said at the opening ceremony.
“I’m so thankful to everyone for their generosity in making this a reality and making this happen.”
