Being with Blake Shelton has give Gwen Stefani a much-needed jolt of self-esteem.
Stefani’s co-star on “The Voice” has been kind and sweet to her, which is what she needed following her marriage to Gavin Rossdale.
Stefani’s friends said she described her ex as a control freak, reports TMZ.com
Rossdale, apparently, was less than thrilled with Stefani’s parenting skills and there are grumblings that he considered her a not very supportive spouse.
When her marriage of 13 years dissolved, Shelton was there, being his usual jovial self and making her feel good.
Proving that this indeed is one close-knit cast, Shelton is said to have called Christina Aguilera recently to confide that he harbors a crush on Stefani.
“Good luck with that,” Aguilera reportedly said.
Now that the singers have gone public with their romance, everyone’s chiming in on how happy they are for them.
The new couple, who were rumored to be together for weeks, stepped out in Nashville earlier this week, following a Country Music Awards after party.
Shelton performed his latest single, “Gonna” at the CMAs and Stefani was there to support him.
“So many great things happening in my life,” Shelton, 39, tweeted.
His ex, Miranda Lambert, took home the trophy for Female Vocalist of the Year – for the sixth consecutive time.
Lambert, 31, thanked the CMA “for celebrating country music in a big way and for letting me part of it. Today was a day spent reflecting on this amazing life that Nashville and country music have given me,” she wrote on her Facebook page, mentioning how grateful she is.
Earlier in the week, Stefani told Ryan Seacrest, “It’s kind of crazy we both went through the same thing at the same time. There’s been so many people that I’ve gotten so much comfort from. Just people coming to me and telling me their story. Not confiding, but sharing, which has helped me see things from a different perspective and move forward.”
