Aniston, Theroux met on Valentine’s Day, decided to reveal split

It wasn’t your standard Valentine’s Day for Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux.

The separating spouses got together one final time on the holiday last week and concluded it was time to announce they were splitting up, People reported.

“They saw each other late at night on Valentine’s Day in L.A.,” a source told the magazine. “They decided together that they would make the announcement the next day. Justin flew on a private jet to L.A. to see Jen one last time.”

The duo, who married in 2015, revealed in a joint statement on Feb. 15 that they were ending their relationship.

In their announcement, Theroux and the “Friends” star noted that the decision to split was “mutual.”

A factor in the breakup was that Aniston and Theroux weren’t on the same page about where they should live, Entertainment Tonight reported last week.

“He much prefers being (in New York) and that’s been a major issue for them for a long time,” a source told ET.

Theroux and Aniston had been together for seven years overall. They got engaged in 2012 and wed in a secret ceremony three years later.

It was Theroux’s first marriage, while Aniston was previously married to actor Brad Pitt from 2000 to 2005.
