America is divided politically, but it should come together over beer — and that brew is Bud Light.
Comic superstars Amy Schumer and Seth Rogen have been enlisted to point that out for Anheuser-Busch, which released the first part its upcoming Super Bowl ad campaign called “The Bud Light Party is Coming.”
The politically themed star-studded teaser, which will air in full during the year’s biggest football game and advertising platform on Feb. 7, takes a satirical approach to unite consumers who can’t agree on politics to see eye-to-eye on beer.
Like gridiron gladiators before a big game, Schumer, hot off of “Trainwreck,” and Rogen, a lovable goofball, are seen in a video dressing for action in campaign-worthy garb.
Then the subtle clowning begins.
She fumbles as she tries to steps into pantyhouse. He slips out of a robe, revealing his hairy back. She plucks an eyebrow. He eats a hot dog. He applies lotion to his arms, noting, “Really gotta get the elbows” then asks her to “Get the middle of my back.”
“There is no middle!” she gasps over Rogan’s ample girth.
They put on Bud Light Party buttons, then twists tops off bottles. “Ready,” she asks. “You know it,” he says with seriousnes of an Oval Office contender.
They step up to a podium ready to seduce modern beer drinkers.
The Bud Light Party campaign will introduce the brand’s “Raise One to Right Now” tagline, designed to tap into a the Presidential election cultural moment.
