Olympic figure skater Adam Rippon proved at this year’s winter games he can land a triple lutz — and thanks to Sally Field, he may have also landed a date.
Rippon, 28, heard Field’s attempts to set him up with her son, Sam Greisman, loud and clear, and hinted that he may want to take her up on that offer.
“Sally! She bold,” he told BuzzFeed. “Sam, your mom — I admire her. And I’m sure one day we’re going to meet. So thanks, mom.”
Field played Cupid last week after making a very public attempt to set Greisman up with the bronze medal-winning skater on social media.
Greisman had gushed about Rippon on Twitter, and even told his Oscar-winning mom, 71, about his “Olympic crush.”
After Greisman, 30, shared a screenshot of Field urging him to “find a way” to land a date with Rippon, the actress took matters into her own hands and shared the tweet — while tagging Rippon so that he’d see.
Although it did seem to work, Field told BuzzFeed her son was “mortified” over the exchange.
“I have to bud (sic) out now…but I would like to see Adam in the family,” she said.
Rippon has emerged a fan favorite at the Pyeongchang games thanks to his vibrant personality and hilarious sound bites.
Once he finished competing, NBC asked Rippon to sign on as a correspondent for the rest of the games, but the skater declined, citing a need to stand by Team USA and show his support.
As for his own celebrity crush, Greisman might have some competition — Rippon has previously proclaimed his love for “Sign of the Times” singer Harry Styles.
“So I didn’t realize he was cute until One Direction broke up,” Rippon told Us Weekly. “But now that Harry Styles is, you know, living that solo singing career, yeah, I’m into it.”
