An infant girl died in her Manhattan home Thursday, police said.
Police rushed to 2-month-old Isabel Xie’s eighth-floor apartment on E. 54th St, and Second Ave. after getting a 911 call just before 2:15 p.m., cops said.
The baby was lifeless when police arrived. Medics took her to Weill Cornell Medical Center.
Police initially didn’t see any signs of trauma or foul play, though an autopsy will determine how she died, cops said.
Isabel’s stunned grandfather, Tommy Xie, said he was still processing the tragedy.
“I just went to the hospital to say good bye,” he said, pausing to cry. “We don’t know what happened. The police are still doing their report.”
