Jon Snow may know nothing, but Kit Harington’s got a trick or two up his sleeve.
The “Game of Thrones” star appeared on “The Jonathan Ross Show” where he opened up about the April Fool’s Day prank that nearly cost him his relationship with fiancée and former co-star Rose Leslie.
“My family does April Fool’s, her family doesn’t do April no date,” Harrington explained before host Ross rolled footage of Leslie opening her refrigerator to find a fake severed head staring back at her.
Upon discovering the head, Leslie set down the Brita filter she was holding and dropped to the ground in hysterics. Harington was nowhere to be seen as the prank unfolded, but managed to capture her hilarious reaction on camera.
“It didn’t go down well,” he said. “She pretty much told me if I ever did it again that would be it, and I think that’s marriage included.”

During the same appearance Harington discussed his engagement to Leslie, cluing fans in as to how exactly he popped the question. The 30-year-old actor told Ross and company his proposal didn’t go exactly as planned – then again, neither did this explanation.
“I did have some plans to do it, I was going to string up some lights in some trees and do all the romantic stuff, but we were in the country and we were under this beautiful night sky and had a log fire burning and red wine and I blew my load early,” Harington said.
“What I meant to say was, I popped my question a bit early.”
Harington and Leslie confirmed their engagement in a traditional manner, announcing their impending marriage in the Times of London on September 27.
