Suspect charged in strangling pregnant woman

The New York City Police Department is asking the public's assistance ascertaining the whereabouts of a female reported missing on Wednesday, August 7, 2013. Details are as follows:

The body of Megan Marotte, who recently learned she was pregnant, was found Thursday afternoon in a wooded area of a Staten Island park.

A Staten Island man has been charged with strangling the woman whose decomposing body was found in Willowbrook Park park last week, police said Sunday.

Investigators suspect Pedro Martin, 27, agreed to pay Megan Marotte for sex, then got into an argument with the pregnant 20-year-old and killed her, police sources said.
