Big brother is watching you — and thank goodness for that!
Nine-year-old Joseph Levi is being hailed as a hero after he dashed over to his infant brother’s changing table and caught him before he could hit the ground.
His mother Tila Levi, set her 11-month-old son down inside her Florida home, and then turned her back for a moment to check on the rest of her five children, 7 News Miami reported.
In surveillance video that captured the incident, the tot can be seen slowly rolling onto his stomach before he falls off the edge, about four feet off the ground.
Joseph screams to his mother as he sprints on-screen and then snatches his little brother out of the air, seconds before he would have hit the floor — something Tila describes as a miracle.
“I just said to him, ‘You just saved your baby brother. You saved his life. You’re a hero,’” she said.
Her young son couldn’t help but agree that there had been some magical forces in play during the incident.
“I would have never caught him, and I can’t run that fast, so I feel like something came and just pushed me forward,” the 9-year-old told the news station, “and when that happened, I just ran and caught him.
“Miracles can always happen, but since this time it was me, I’m really thankful.”
Tila echoed Joseph’s thoughts: “I’m a believing person. I believe in God. I do believe in miracles. I’d just never seen on firsthand, like, in front of my face.”
