Pizza Hut to test wine and beer delivery

Pizza and a buzz in 30 minutes or less.

Pizza Hut is testing home alcohol delivery in Phoenix, Ariz. The delivery options include six-packs of Budweiser and Bud Light, Shocktop and local Arizona-based craft brewer Four Peaks beers. The packs will cost a flat rate of $ 10.99. The company is still deciding on the details on wine delivery, which will begin in January.

No word yet on where the service might expand next.

The popular pizza chain already began selling alcohol in its sit-down restaurants across the country in 2016, but now they can bring it right to your door.

Pizza Hut says unlike Papa John’s, NFL protests not hurting sales

While Pizza Hut parent company, Yum! Brands, is doing well, with shares up 32% according to CNN Money, Pizza Hut is the weakest among their sister companies Taco Bell and KFC. So the alcohol may brew up added revenue.

Taco Bell also recently introduced beer, alcohol and frozen mixed drinks with tequila, rum, vodka and whiskey, but only KFC chains in Tokyo and Australia have sold beer with their chicken in recent years.

Neither pizza competitors Papa John’s and Domino’s offer alcohol for delivery, but earlier this year Domino’s began selling alcohol in their stores.

Individual Pizza Hut chains need a license to distribute the alcohol and all drivers with wine and beer on their routes will need to be at least 21. Customers will be required to show their IDs at the door.

If you live in New York and don’t need a slice of pizza with your booze, you can use Drizly or Minibar to get alcohol delivered to your door.
