Orlando Bloom is still looking for Mrs. Right.
The swashbuckling star’s publicist said he wouldn’t be talking to print publications for a special “Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales” screening in SoHo — but then Bloom saw a 7-year-old girl standing near the red carpet and decided to open up.
“Do you have a question?” the 40-year-old Brit asked after roaming over. “Is it a nice, friendly question? Because you can ask me anything you like as long as it’s nice and friendly.”
The British tabloids have been less than kind to Bloom in recent days. Multiple publications reported on Wednesday that Bloom had reached out to apologize to a waitress he’d allegedly hooked up with in London, after learning that the alleged tryst cost the aspiring actress her job at the upscale eatery where they’d met.
But he was more than happy to open up to the little girl who caught his attention at Tuesday’s Remy Martin-sponsored screening at the Crosby Street Hotel. So she asked Bloom if he planned to have any more kids.
“Yes, I do,” he confessed. “Can you find me someone who’s really sweet, kind and lovely to have kids with?”
Since no one came to mind for the second-grader, Bloom pushed further to no avail.
“No?” he teased. “Maybe your mum knows someone?”
Striking out again, Bloom handled his rejection like a gentleman.
“Nice to meet you,” he said to the girl. “Thank you for your beautiful question.”
Bloom has a 6-year-old son with Australian model Miranda Kerr, to whom he was married from 2010 to 2013. The split seems to have been amiable, and both Kerr and Bloom are frequently seen out and about with their boy.
Bloom also dated pop singer Katy Perry for a year before they called it quits in January. Perry tweeted to inquiring minds at the time: “U can still b friends & love ur former partners! No one’s a victim or a villain, get a life y’all!”
