Wednesday was the second night in a row that officers in riot gear had used tear gas against demonstrators, who remained largely peaceful and were shouting slogans such as “Black lives matter” and “hands up; dont shoot.”

After the Omni shooting, a Charlotte Magazine editor reported that a group of demonstrators threw a trash can through a glass window.

It was not immediately clear if there had been any arrests.
