Can *NSYNC fans kiss the band’s rumored reunion bye, bye, bye?
The rumor mill was working overtime Tuesday when news broke that the iconic boy band might be performing together at Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards.
Former group member Lance Bass addressed the speculation Tuesday night during his SiriusXM show “Dirty Pop,” however he did not confirm or deny if the reunion was actually happening.

Lance Bass addresses *NSYNC reunion rumors.
“Justin Timberlake is getting the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award this Sunday at the awards, so of course people are automatically going to think we’re going to be there performing, but this is exactly how it happened and I knew these rumors were going to fly,” Bass explained.
He pointed out where he thinks the gossip originated from.

‘Love this pic- Florida boys back together -watching JT and Jay Z- amazing show,’ Lance Bass (center) posted on Instagram with Chris Kirkpatrick (left) and Joey Fatone (right) on August 17.
“We all came down here [to Miami], except for J.C. [Chasez]. J.C. stayed in California, he had to work … Joey [Fatone], Chris [Kirkpatrick] and myself went to go see Justin’s last show with Jay Z at the [Sun Life] Stadium last Friday, and I even took a picture of it, it’s on my Instagram …”
“I think that’s what started the rumor that there’s going to be this big reunion with *NSYNC,” he continued.
‘Justin Timberlake is getting the Michael Jackson Vanguard Award this Sunday at the awards, so of course people are automatically going to think we’re going to be there performing,’ Bass said of the reunion speculation.
“It’s amazing to see the reaction out there on Twitter and social media [and] how many people are supporting *NSYNC. It’s so nice to see because when we ended things 10 years ago, there was no social media, there was no Twitter, but it’s so cute to see how many people are supporting, and *NSYNC was even trending.”
Despite Bass’ aloof take on the subject, producers of the award show are reportedly “trying to make it happen,” an MTV source told Us Weekly.
The insider added that the much anticipated reunion is steadily “coming together.”
The last time *NSYNC took the stage together at a VMA show was in 2001.
