Katy Perry can't stop snacking during 'American Idol' auditions

Katy Perry has no problem saying “Bon Appétit” during the audition days for “American Idol.”

The pop star — and new judge on the recently revived TV singing competition — revealed she likes to snack throughout those lengthy days of listening to the hopeful contestants try out.

“I’m not afraid to eat on camera,” Perry said Wednesday at an “Idol” press event. “I love it. I’m just, like, popping in a little Oreo in my mouth.”

Kelly Clarkson has become such a superstar over the past decade, that it's easy to forget that she got her start as the first ever winner of "American Idol." Kelly topped the charts with her first hit "A Moment Like This," which became the best-selling single of the year in 2002. The Original American Idol is a three-time Grammy winner, and has won countless other awards including Billboard Awards, American Music Awards, and CMA Awards. Aside from welcoming a baby girl into the world in 2014, Kelly released the chart-topping single, "Heartbeat Song," from her new album "Piece by Piece," which will be released later this year.

Her fellow judges have taken notice.

“While we’re judging, it’s like there’s a little mouse up there,” Luke Bryan said with a laugh. “Katy’s the little mouse.”

Adds Lionel Richie, “I was not going to say anything, but she brought it up.”

Perry, Bryan and Richie are the newest judges on “American Idol,” which is being rebooted by ABC after airing on Fox for its first 15 seasons.

The returning series, which does not have an official premiere date yet, will be hosted once again by Ryan Seacrest.
