JETS at BUCCANEERS, at Raymond James Stadium
When: 1 p.m.
TV: Ch. 2
LINE: JETS by 2 1/2
Confidence and swagger abounded in Florham Park this week, as the Jets basked in their dominant Week 9 victory over the Bills. Now Todd Bowles’ squad has a chance to return to .500 for the first time since Week 6 and plant itself firmly in the AFC playoff hunt entering the bye week.
BIG GAME FROM BILAL POWELL
After Matt Forte called out offensive coordinator John Morton for abandoning the run in a rain-soaked loss to the Falcons in Week 8, the Jets’ running game broke through against the Bills. Morton called 36 run plays, including 14 carries for Forte. The Jets totaled 194 yards. Forte will sit out Sunday after he experiencing significant swelling in his surgically repaired knee. That means Bilal Powell must shoulder the load along with rookie Elijah McGuire. The last time Forte missed a game was Week 4 against the Jags. Powell rushed for a career-high 163 yards.

FOCUS ON FITZ
With Jameis Winston (shoulder) out, Fitzpatrick is starting for the Bucs. The former Jets QB will be looking to carve up his old team. It would be rather poetic if Fitzpatrick goes out on Sunday and throws for 400 yards and five TDs. He’s certainly looking to do that. The Jets have seen Fitzpatrick at his best and will not be overlooking the journeyman.
EXPLOIT BUCS PASS DEFENSE
The Bucs are allowing 272 passing yards per game, third most in the league. They’re allowing an opposing passer rating of 101.9, the fourth-highest mark in the league. They’ve shown marginal improvement in recent weeks, but this seems like a great opportunity for Josh McCown and the Jets’ receivers to put up some big numbers.
