Jacob deGrom expects his short hair to make him stronger

Hair come the Mets.

Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom trimmed his long locks in the off-season, but unlike Samson, he expects to be stronger now.

“I did some research and I found that shorter hair actually will speed up my delivery and add two more miles to my fastball,” said deGrom, whose short-haired bobble head lookalike will make its debut on July 7 when the Amazins host the Tampa Bay Rays. Mets single game tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. and that will be one of the games made available.

Among the big ticket match-ups being promoted by Mets.com/tickets is opening day against the St. Louis Cardinals on March 29 and July 7’s “Star Wars” night, where Mr. Met bobbleheads will be handed out.

There will also be Yoenis Cespedes “gnomes” given away on May 5 when the Colorado Rockies come to town.
