The human skull and bones that washed up on Rikers Island earlier this week have been identified as the remains of a missing Queens flight attendant.
The city Medical Examiner’s office confirmed Friday that the remains belong to 30-year-old Sierra Shields, who was reported missing in January.
Shields, who is originally from Chicago but had been living in Astoria, was last seen leaving work at LaGuardia Airport on Jan. 14 around noon.
The ME’s office has yet to determine a cause of death, but cops had feared that Shields had killed herself, police sources said.
Relatives had told police that she had called a suicide hotline shortly before her disappearance.
Her union, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters’ Airline Division, had offered $ 10,000 for information on her whereabouts.
Reached by phone Friday night, Shields’ mother Donna Shields said she did not want to talk.
