The secret to a perfect relationship: cosplay.
Or at least that’s the case for Becka Noel and Dhareza Maramis. The two have been cosplaying together at conventions all around the country for nearly six years now.
And this year the couple invited the New York Daily News to see how two of the Internet’s famous cosplayers get ready for New York Comic Con. Combined they have more than 63,000 Instagram followers and both have appeared on Syfy’s Cosplay Melee.
Noel and Maramis do it all themselves and even have a panel at New York Comic Con where they share what they know about cosplay with other interested fans. The two usually spend the weeks leading up to a big convention working on their outfits. This year they have gender bent versions of Wonder Woman and Superman, and Iron Fist and Flashpoint’s Wonder Women among other outfits.

Then comes the first day of a long four-day weekend that is New York Comic Con, this year attended by tens of thousands of people.
“The day of the convention is the most important day, thats game day,” Maramis said. “You just spent hours upon hours, hundreds of hours making these costumes, now its all about getting it out there and having people see it.”
The weekend is usually filled with photoshoots, panels, speaking engagements and if their lucky some downtime, but the best part is always the fans.
“It’s a cool experience to be a character thats been brought to life for somebody,” Noel said.
