Lies, secrets, intrigue, murder — it must be time for another season of How to Get Away With Murder! Thursday night’s premiere episode, “It’s Time to Move On,” wasted little time in revealing who it was that killed Rebecca (Katie Findlay) in the Season 1 finale. But that wasn’t the only shocking twist Annalise (Viola Davis) and the Keating Five had up their sleeves by evening’s end. After all, murdering someone is easy. Getting away with it, now that’s the tricky part. Let’s dig in!

On Your Case
Viewers may have had a whole summer to stew over the events of the finale, but for these characters, only 10 days had gone by and there was definitely tension in the ranks. In other words, everyone was fighting with everyone else. Even doe-eyed Wes (Alfred Enoch) talked back to Annalise in the middle of class, which, for anyone else, would be a downright suicide mission. However, Wes has always been able to get away with things others couldn’t. (Like murdering Annalise’s husband, for example.) So she let it slide.
But there’s nothing like a new case to help the gang take their minds off their own problems. Or, as Annalise so astutely put it, it gets them a murder case that didn’t actually happen in her house. HA! The only problem was that the clients — two adopted siblings who were accused of shooting and killing their parents — were already being represented by someone else. But whatever Annalise wants, Annalise gets, so she intentionally sabotaged the DA’s case to move in as his replacement. Little did she know where all that would eventually lead her… but more on that in a minute!
Eggs Mark the Spot
Meanwhile, Michaela (Aja Naomi King) was understandably nervous that the recipient of Rebecca’s cryptic “Eggs 911” text would eventually contact her since it was her phone Rebecca had been using at the time. So instead of waiting to see what would happen, Michaela decided to take action by sending this mystery person a “Hi” text message of her own, which he/she has now responded back to, saying, “Hello… you there?” And so the plot thickens…

After finding Rebecca’s body in the basement, Frank (Charlie Weber) and Annalise were forced to cover up the crime, but they still had no idea who had actually done it. So, for a while everyone was suspect. But in the end, Annalise realized that the real killer was surprisingly… Bonnie (Liza Weil). She thought Rebecca was still guilty of Lila’s murder and didn’t want to have to worry about her messing things up for any of them down the line. So Bonnie suffocated Rebecca. And while Annalise seems to be keeping this secret under wraps, this little incident will definitely put on a strain on their relationship from here on out.
You’ve Got a Friend in Me
Remember when Annalise went to Nate (Billy Brown) and told him to hire a new lawyer? Well, that lawyer came in the form of Annalise’s old Harvard friend Eve (Famke Janssen). In fact, the two were romantically involved with each other throughout school before Annalise left Eve to be with Sam (Tom Verica). After eventually agreeing to take on Nate’s case, the two of them share a kiss. However, the presiding prosecutor of the case isn’t about to go down without a fight, which is why she’s making poor Asher (Matt McGorry) spy on all of his friends. And she seemed pretty interested in the fact that Nate’s new lawyer had shown up at Annalise’s house just days before taking the job.
And in completely unrelated, but equally important news: Connor (Jack Falahee) and Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) are moving in together, so yay! At least there was one sliver of happy news.
Another Day, Another Body
The episode ends with Annalise taking the Keating Five out for a night of dancing at a club. We then jump two months into the future, hear gunshots fired, and see Wes running from the mansion of the two clients Annalise had just procured earlier on. There’s blood splattered on the walls and then the camera cuts to Annalise herself, lying on the floor, shocked and bleeding to death. Here we go again!
