Giants QB Geno Smith rips WFAN's Craig Carton for arrest

Geno Smith isn’t backing up Craig Carton.

The Giants quarterback took a dig at the arrested shock jock, who’s been critical of Smith in the past, on Tuesday afternoon.

“Same guy who was calling me a thug on some lame radio station was running a Ponzi scheme?? Funny how life works, can’t believe these fools!” he tweeted.

Minutes later he added: “Throwing rocks and try to hide their hands…. The universe has an amazing sense of humor!”

It’s unclear what specific comments Smith is referring to or when they were made.

WFAN’s co-host of the “Boomer and Carton” show was arrested early Wednesday morning by FBI agents for duping investors out of $ 5.6 million to cover a large amount of gambling debts, authorities said. Carton was adamant in a Tuesday statement that he won’t be found guilty once “the facts come out.”

Smith has dealt with his share of turnovers but was named Eli Manning’s backup quarterback heading into the season, with the Giants cutting Josh Johnson.
