Elton John’s mother has died months after reconciling with her British singer son.
Sheila Farebrother passed away Monday morning, the “Rocket Man” musician revealed in a Twitter post. She was 90.
“So sad to say that my mother passed away this morning. I only saw her last Monday and I am in shock,” John wrote.
Sheila Farebrother, Elton John’s mother, died Monday at 90.
“Travel safe Mum. Thank you for everything. I will miss you so much.”
The cause of death was not immediately known.
John, 70, announced on Mother’s Day that he and his mother settled their feud after he fell ill with a dangerous bacterial infection while touring through South America. He canceled several concerts to recover.
The mother and son spent nine years apart.
Farebrother blamed her son-in-law, David Furnish, for inspiring her son to cut off contact with her, she told the Daily Telegraph in 2015.
